In the last few years I devoured quite an amount of books about spirituality, the law of attraction, yoga and religion. And a couple of these books really caused some big changes in my thinking and in my outlook on life. To help you a little further on your road of spirituality and truth, I’d like to share these books with you and to give you my honest opinion on them. Today I will start with the book that everything started with. Welcome to my The Secret Book Review.

The Secret in a nutshell

In an easy-to-read language ‘The Secret’ explains to you how the Law of Attraction (partially) works. According to The Secret you attract what you think. So like attracts like and dislike also attracts dislike. This book mostly focuses on how you can manifest for yourself on the material plane. You can manifest a million, a new car, the perfect house, the ideal partner, and so on. You just need to focus your thoughts on what you want to manifest… and you need to actually believe this manifestation is meant for you.

Even though this book is very commercial, it has been a real eye-opener to me. I had never heard of anything similar to the concept of the Law of Attraction. I never even imagined that my own thoughts might’ve been the reason why I attracted certain things and situations in my life.

For the first time, I considered the option that life might not be so random as I always believed it was. This is why this book was the first shift in my mindset. It was my starting point and from this point, I started to further research the Law of Attraction. This is why I think this book deserved a special The Secret Book Review page in my Book Review section.

Rhonda Byrne – The Secret book review: What I didn’t like so much

During the years I discovered the book The Secret is kind of black and white and I figured out that this law is a bit more complicated in reality compared to how it’s described in this book. A frequently heard comment is the explanation that says if you’re sick, you’ve also attracted that sickness yourself. For me this is a tad bit more complicated. I do believe we do manifest our physical problems.

But… I also believe the Law of Attraction requires study and dedication. It’s a project to dedicate yourself to for life. Mainly because we all have a belief system and thought patterns we build up since we were kids. And for the Law of Attraction to work, eliminating these false beliefs and thoughts is a hard requirement. And this takes time. So, when you are already sick and you are just starting with the Law of Attraction, it’s good to realize it takes time. Yes, focussing on the positive thoughts will help you for sure, but there is a lot more inner work to do.

The Secret book review

To me the Law of Attraction is truth. It works. But only if you exactly know how it works. And even with you knowing, living life according to the philosophy of the Law of Attraction can be quite a challenge that requires a lot of practice. And even after years of practice, it will still be a new challenge every single day to live life accordingly. You need to be really conscious every day and experience shows, that it doesn’t always work like that in our daily lives. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is also part of the beauty in it for me; it gives you the challenge to bring your life to the next level and to a higher consciousness again and again.

Later I also learned some aspects are missing in the book. One of the most important missing aspects is the fact that we must share. Sharing with others might even be more important in the process of attracting your desires than to just focus on the things you want to have for yourself. We are here together, which also means, that if you have something you can share, you must share it. Not sharing = thinking of lack. And thinking of lack equals attracting lack.

Everything is energy and everything is connected. We aren’t here to receive for the self alone. I also missed a section about ‘self-reflection’. To make the Law of Attraction succeed in your life, self-reflection is a big part to make it work. To check your intentions with yourself. Are you wishing only for yourself? Or is your intention pure towards the world you’re surrounded by? The ‘real’ Law of Attraction has everything to do with finding your deepest self, finding your life purpose. And everything that belongs to that, you will attract.

In the book The Secret it seems like a life with ‘negative experiences’ is not a good life. But I believe that a life without ‘negative experiences’ is not really a life. Growth is one of the most beautiful things in life to experience within yourself. It is the essence of our being, the reason why we’re here; to re-invent ourselves and to rise above ourselves. And without difficult, challenging, confronting, painful situations crossing our paths, we won’t grow. They are there especially for you. To help you to take the next step in your life-process.

Negative emotions and tough situations are really part of the game. You need those! You just need to learn to see them as positive and to put it in another box. And also, you need to learn to love life, regardless of the situation you are in at any given moment. Only if you manage to keep your head high and remain positive at all times, you will come closer to manifesting your desires and experiencing ultimate happiness. The Law of Attraction really only works if you’re already able to feel happy now with your life the way it is today. It sounds like a paradox, but it’s the truth. ๐Ÿ™‚

My verdict: The Secret book review

I definitely recommend this book to the beginner who wants to learn about the basics of the Law of Attraction. But always keep in mind this is a very commercial outlook on the law. There’s still a whole world behind it that you’ll also need to discover and learn to understand. Following The Secret alone works for a short while, until you fall back into the first disappointment. Too much knowledge and tools are still missing, to make this work on the long-term.

So read it, turn it to your advantage, but mostly just look at it as your first introduction to the law before you are going to expand your knowledge on this subject. Don’t get discouraged when the Law of Attraction is not working based on The Secret alone and continue your search! That’s my advice. ๐Ÿ™‚

Why I’m using a Law of Attraction Planner

In one of my previous posts I already talked about the Law of Attraction and the reasons why I’m hooked. The Law of Attraction works 100%… need to do a little work for it to make it work. ๐Ÿ™‚ This means that you need to work on keeping your consciousness high and maintain your awareness of your positive thinking. You need to stay focused the goal and you need to keep on transforming your negative thoughts into positive ones. One of the best tools I like to use to keep myself accountable is a Motivational / Law of Attraction planner. You can keep track of all your desires, goals and thoughts in these planners and in most of them, you can make your own personal vision board. Ideal, right! But what is the Law of Attraction again and which planner is the best Law of Attraction planner? Read all about it in this blog!

Allow me to kick-start your memory first… and in case you don’t have any knowledge about the Law of Attraction yet; a short introduction:

The Law of Attraction is a universal law. The theory behind it is the thought that we (can) create our own reality. According to this law we attract the things we want, and we also attract the things we don’t want. We attract everything through our thoughts and emotions. When you’re thinking about your positive desires, you can manifest them. But when your negative thoughts take over, they will eventually be manifested in your reality as well. Are you scared of high bills? Then they will be delivered at your doorstep. Can you shift your focus to the things you like about yourself when you’re looking in the mirror? Then this beauty is on its way to manifest itself in your new reality.

When we have limiting beliefs, we will also attract a life that is limited. This is the exact reason why you need to keep a positive mindset, without those limiting beliefs. You need to work on your awareness when it comes to your limiting thoughts every day. Only then they will eventually disappear (together with the corresponding manifestations) and will the positive thoughts with your new belief system take root in your mind to create the reality you have in mind.

Everything is possible, the sky is the limit! But I know from my personal experience, that you fall back to your old thought patterns so fast in daily life. That you are so easily drawn back into what you think is ‘reality’. And when you’re not on the right frequency anymore and you actually kind of forget the Law of Attraction exists. It sounds a bit like detention, but in fact, it’s quite logical this approach works. By repeating the same thought over and over again, you are programming this thought in your subconsciousness. And as a result this thought eventually will become your truth. In my view, every Law of Attraction fan should own this book in addition to one of the other Law of Attraction planners. This will allow you to add more power to the Law of Attraction.

This cute little book has 150 pages for you to write. This means there are 11 rounds of 5-day manifestations!

And the last planner that I’m very excited about; the Tools4wisdom planner. It promises to keep you motivated, even when things are not going your way. And if one thing is important to keep you on the path of the right alignment, it is to keep your spirit high when life gets a little tough. And at the same time, this is the hardest and it’s where the Law of Attraction mostly fails. This planner shifts your focus from being reactive to proactive. You will work on your goals by breaking them down from big to small. From annual goals to daily goals, so that you will remain with a lot of doable small micro-steps. It immediately makes your goals look a lot smaller, which as a result makes it easier for you to keep believing in them. You’re taking it step by step.

What’s appealing me the most is the shift from being reactive to being pro-active. Because when you become pro-active, you immediately learn that life doesn’t just happen to you. In fact, you are capable to control your life yourself. You learn to take small actions every day and to work towards your desired outcome bit by bit. This has been the way I managed to step out of my anxiety/depression. I always felt so overwhelmed by my goals that they seemed to be not feasible in advance. And I believed that life comes as it comes, very random. Eventually, I decided to take a small action every day that my future self would thank me for in 5 years. Sometimes the smallest actions can already make a change because they give you the sense of being in control again (which is very important if you’re dealing with anxiety or going through a depression). Cleaning the house, make myself a healthy dinner, send that one letter, sign up for a course, study one chapter… This mentality eventually resulted in the manifestation of my biggest desires.

3x Best books about the teachings of the Kabbalah


In a previous blog about the Law of Attraction I already mentioned once, that the teachings of the Kabbalah really helped me in my search for answers. Answers to life questions that I hadn’t been able to figure out for years. Questions I carried around with me as long as I can remember. A feeling that life must have more meaning than being just an accumulation of physical coincidences.

I see beauty in all religions, but at the same time religions oftentimes also left me with contradicting information that brought up more questions instead of answering them. Rules that didn’t make sense to me at all. A God that wants to punish his own creation when it doesn’t do what he (maybe) wants…

According to the teachings of the Kabbalah everyone is here for a reason

I believe we are all here for a good reason. In my opinion it’s impossible that if there would be a God, he would create to punish. And it’s impossible to me that God can be insulted by the things we humans do or say. God (or the Creator, the Light, the Universe, the Divine) can only be unconditional love and give love. I always felt that the Bible/Torah are holy books indeed, I just didn’t get the way they are mostly interpreted.

I always felt like we are here with a cause. Every human being, every living being. That everything is connected in some way and that reality might not be what it seems. When I discovered the teachings of the Kabbalah, I finally found the knowledge that teaches what I was already thinking. So, I was finally able to learn more about it and to connect the dots. It really makes sense to me!

What is Kabbalah and what is it not?

Kabbalah caught my attention years ago. The first book I read about it, didn’t give any clarity, just confusion (to make this easier for you I made a list with recommendations of the best Kabbalah books below this blog). So eventually I signed up for a course. Something that I used to be quite hesitant about, because.. money!? Spending money on a course like this, is mostly seen as spending money on a cult. So it took me some time to get over that and to just take the risk to see if it was going to be worth it.

At the end of this course many pieces of the puzzle fell into place and the money was well spent! It was really worth it. In the end money is just energy and we shouldn’t take money so seriously to begin with. But I wasn’t aware of that back then.. ๐Ÿ˜‰

First of all I would like to make clear that Kabbalah is not a religion or a cult. It’s just knowledge. Nothing more, nothing less. I attended the course, I’ve been active in the community for a little while and later I put it on the back burner. And all of this was okay. Because, one of the philosophies of Kabbalah is that everything everyone does is okay. Because they believe that everyone is following their own path.

Some of the main points that make the teachings of the Kabbalah so interesting to me are:

  • Again, it is not a religion or a cult. It is the wisdom of life;
  • The Holy scriptures are interpreted symbolically, which makes much more sense to me compared to taking these texts literally;
  • Everything in life happens for a reason;
  • Reality is an illusion;
  • Accepting others andย sharing with others are conditions to find happiness withinย yourself;
  • You control your own life;
  • There is no punishment, we just come across situations that we are able to learn from;
  • Negative situations are labeled as something bad, but it’s just how we choose to perceive them. What are you going to make of it yourself?;
  • Satan isn’t a creepy devil, it’s just the opponent within the self. It is that voice that’s trying to make you chose the easy, fast choice, instead of the more difficult, slow, confronting choice, that will give you long-term fulfillment. This opponent is necessary to help you move forward, instead of making your life miserable.

It’s all about perception.

For a long time I felt like a victim of life. I believed it was some kind of random gambling game in which one person happens to be lucky all the time and another person always seems to attract bad luck. Kabbalah gave me many new insights on this subject. Where an unpleasant situation used to be experienced as hell by me before, a hell that I needed to go through again, I can now look at the same situation as a new opportunity to grow and learn. To take one step higher again on the ladder of consciousness.

Yes, life can be hard sometimes. But what would life be without all the challenges that cross our paths? Who would you be if you had only experienced ‘positive’ experiences during your life?

The teachings of Kabbalah answer your questions and provides tools to handle life differently. It will be a process of self-reflection and you will learn to even appreciate your ‘enemies’ and see them as people who come to help you to learn more about yourself. It converts hate and anger into love and understanding. I am so incredibly grateful that I’ve found this knowledge and that I’m able to apply it to my life.

Protection against negative energy

I didn’t study Kabbalah for a while, but now during the last months of pregnancy, I felt attracted to it again. So, since the beginning of my pregnancy, I did wear the well-known red bracelet, though. For a lot of people this might be something commercial, but for me it really felt like it gave me some protection against bad vibes.

My teacher once explained to me that this bracelet can stick for a couple of days, weeks or even months. Depending on the amount of negative energy it needs to protect you from, you’ll lose it after a short or longer period of time. And every time, when I went through a tougher situation during pregnancy, I lost it a couple of days later. ๐Ÿ™‚ This is my main reason now, to return to my Kabbalah studies again.

This book also talks about the history and background of Kabbalah. On the other hand it doesn’t explain so much about how to apply the fundamentals of Kabbalah to your own life. But nonetheless very interesting for the complete picture.

Satan – Yehuda Berg

This book is awesome! In a simple, casual and humorous way it explains who Satan (the opponent) exactly is. That it’s/he is nothing to be scared of, but rather something positive. An opponent that helps you to move forward in life and how to deal with this.

And last but not least, the well-known red string bracelet. There are many different ones for sale on the internet. And they probably have the same meaning. But only for this particular one I’m sure that the string went to the tomb of Rachel, where it is given its power and energy to protect you. And maybe it’s just my superstition, but for me it seems to work!

Hypnobirthing techniques: Are painful births a manifestation of our cultural belief system?


Is it possible to give birth pain-free with hypnobirthing techniques?

Today, I am 8 months pregnant. Which means that the day that I’m going to meet my baby, is really close ๐Ÿ™‚ As you might’ve read in my other blogs, the Law of attraction is a big part of my daily life. And since this is working quite well on all the other levels of my life, I started to wonder if you can also apply the law of attraction to manifest a calm, stressless, pain-free – or at least less painful – birthing experience. Without (too many) complications afterwards.

Transform ‘fear’ to ‘mindful’ and ‘relaxed’? with hypnobirthing techniques

Fear struck me when I was around 4 months pregnant. Am I capable of doing this? What can I expect? What if I can’t handle the pain? What can I compare this pain with? Every horror story that I have once been told, arose in my mind. And at this very moment, I thought to myself: how am I going to transform this into something positive? Maybe there are also women who have shared positive birthing stories online that I can use? Stories that will help me to create a new thought pattern in my mind, instead of sticking to the horror ones I already knew.

I started to search Google for positive birthing stories. And yes, thank God, I found the stories I was hoping for. Women who experienced giving birth not as agony, but just as something beautiful and not so hard to endure. Most women I’ve heard talking about giving birth in my life said something like: “The pain is unbearable, but the moment your baby is born and you look into those eyes, you will forget all the pain”. But why is the pain something we need to endure first before the enjoyment comes? Shouldn’t giving birth be a nice and beautiful experience to begin with?

From that moment on I shifted my focus on having a positive birthing experience. A birth that is a pleasant experience from the beginning till the end. Instead of only pleasant after your baby is born. Fear in advance for sure won’t help me and “the path is the goal”, right?

Use affirmations!

First of all I came up with a series of affirmations to read every day. Like this I installed “positive expectation software” in my mind, for the pregnancy itself and for the moment of giving birth. For the pregnancy, I can already say that it was a very pleasant experience for me! Of course I’ve had some sleepless nights, nausea and did I have some minor ailments. But in general, it has been an easy pregnancy that I have been mostly able to enjoy ๐Ÿ™‚

The Mongan-method: the hypnobirthing techniques book

Now my goal is to manifest the same type of experience for birth as I did for the pregnancy itself. So I started to do some online research about methods that can help me with this, and the one that stood out the most was Marie Mongan’s bookHypnobirthing“.

Marie Mongan developed the Mongan-method; a hypnobirthing method. As a kid she heard her mother talking about her own birthing experience when she gave birth to Marie. Her mother had a terrible experience with giving birth. Which is of course not really nice to hear about your own birth ๐Ÿ˜‰

From this moment on Marie has been obsessed by her inner belief and wish, that there must be a way to have a pleasant birthing experience. Eventually, she stumbled upon Dick-Read’s method and with the use of this method, she developed a method of her own. She helps you to take back control over this important, intense event.

What is hypnobirthing exactly?

Hypnobirthing helps women to learn to trust on their own strength during birth. This is done by the use of the hypnobirthing techniques and by creating awareness that as a woman, you can instinctively endure this. She claims that women experience a lot less pain during birth when they use her method. And she claims it also reduces the need for medication or c-sections. The duration of the birth and the recovery time afterward are also much shorter.

Which is great, because now you will be able as a newborn to focus yourself completely on bonding with your baby! Your baby’s birth trauma will be a lot smaller as well. Which will result in a baby that is able to sleep and eat much better. Win-win for everybody!

Marie Mongan believes that so many women experience giving birth as being so traumatic because our culture is teaching us to fear giving birth. We’ve been told to count on a painful, horrible experience. A question that I’m asked on a regular basis is: “Are you nervous for the moment you’re going to give birth?” But I’m actually really looking forward to it. Fear creates stress in your body. It makes you to feel cramped before it has even started. So fear or dreading isn’t going to help you at all. Besides, everything you believe, you attract!

And how does it work?

Hypnobirthing is a self-hypnosis technique. This hypnobirthing technique will ensure a calm birth, without an overload of stress and fear. By the way, it’s not the type of hypnosis where you’re not aware of the world around you anymore, so not in a wooly way, fortunately. I don’t like that either. You just start to feel really relaxed and because of this techniques you learn how to be in control over your pain, your body and mind.

I found a lot of expensive hypnobirthing (breathing techniques) courses online, which might be great for many, but for me the book is enough. For now. In case the book turns out not being helpful enough this time, I will consider the course the next time ๐Ÿ™‚

There is no right or wrong!

By the way, with this blog post, I’m not trying to say that women who did have a tough birthing experience, didn’t do well enough. I’m mostly trying to help myself with the search for different ways and I hope to inspire other expecting mothers as well.

I would never judge anyone, there is no right or wrong. Besides, first I need to see for myself how I’m going to handle this in reality ๐Ÿ˜‰ Even with the best preparations it’s possible to be completely overwhelmed by the pain and not being able anymore to stick to the good thoughts. I have no illusions regarding this whatsoever.

The Law of attraction needs practice in daily life. Which goes by trial and error. It is just a great opportunity to learn from it and to see if I will be able to apply this life knowledge in an intense situation like this, without getting lost in ‘reality’.

A small update

The day I was writing my post – I almost finished it – I went to the 36-weeks ultrasound. They discovered that our babies heartbeat was almost going twice as fast as it should be. So we went to the hospital and I stayed there for a couple of days. They don’t know the cause, it’s something that can happen during the end of a pregnancy. But they have been able to get her heartbeat in a normal rhythm again :))

So everything is fine, but chances for a natural birth are of course a lot smaller. If there are any irregularities it might become a c-section. I will still continue the book, because I think I will benefit from the hypnobirthing techniques anyway. So I might not be able to share my full experience with you. Which is completely fine for me, as long as she will be fine! But I’d still like to hear your stories!

Even if you’ve never drank it before, you might have seen it on a menu in a bar or restaurant or you may have seen those strange people walking with a cup filled with this weird-looking green potion: Matcha! Matcha is booming and in NYC it’s so incredibly populair, there are special Matcha bars! So what’s matcha drink exactly? Why is everybody drinking it? And how do you know the difference between high quality matcha and lower quality matcha? What’s matcha and where does it come from?

Matcha is a green tea from Japan – Even though the history of matcha actually already started during the Song dynasty in China. But it were the Japanese Zen Buddhists who brought this drink after their travels to China and developed their own matcha traditions and production methods. High-quality matcha is often used during the famous Japanese tea ceremonies. There are many rituals during these ceremonies when it comes to the preparation, serving and drinking of the tea.

High-quality and low-quality matcha

The quality of matcha tea is very important, especially for the real matcha-lovers and matcha-connoisseurs. However, for a non-connoisseur, the difference in premium and high-quality matcha is very difficult to perceive.

The highest quality is the quality that is used for ceremonies in Buddhist temples. Naturally, you pay a higher price for this quality. After the highest quality, the premium quality matcha follows. And the lowest quality is the culinary matcha. The culinary quality matcha is used mainly in dishes. This matcha is the cheapest and often has more of a bitter taste. The taste is different because the matcha is made from a different part of the tea plant; the lower leaves of the plant.

The place of the leaf on the plant, the way it is processed, oxidation and the stone that is used to grind the tea, are deciding factors for the quality.

How to recognize high-quality matcha?

You can recognize high-quality matcha by its smell. High-quality matcha has a sweet aroma and lower quality matcha smells a bit smokey/plant-like. Good matcha feels like a silky smooth powder that easily glides through your fingers, isn’t bitter, has a lingering aftertaste en when you whisk it, there should appear a foam layer.

How to prepare matcha yourself?

Pour warm water on top of the powder (60 to 70 degrees) or warm milk. Then it should be whisked until it becomes a frothy green drink. You can also use a healthy milk alternative, like almond milk. Note: When you whisk it too long, the tea can become too bitter!

You can also use matcha powder in dishes or as a flavor enhancer (for a matcha latte, pastries or ice cream).

There are two ways to prepare your matcha: thick and thin!

For thin matcha, you need about 1.75 grams of matcha powder in combination with 75ml of warm (not boiling) water. This matcha is lighter, thinner and often times has a bit more of a bitter taste to it. Mix the substance with a bamboo whisk for better results. The whisk ensures that it becomes more of a dense substance and creates the foam.

For thicker tea – this is the high-quality matcha I talked about earlier, the type that is used for the ceremonies – you need to use a bit more matcha. About 3.75 grams for 40ml warm water. The matcha you can use for the thicker variant is the more expensive matcha. This because it is made of older tea which gives the matcha a sweeter and weaker taste compared to the thin matcha. To get the desired result it’s important to stir in a slower tempo and longer with the bamboo whisk to prevent it will foam.

What are the health benefits of matcha tea?

Green tea is already known for its health benefits and from all of the different green tea sorts, matcha is the healthiest! One cup of matcha in the morning brings a healthy start of the day. Because: it protects your kidney’s and your liver thanks to the antioxidants (it can contain 5x as many antioxidants than normal green tea!), it restores the digestion, carcinogenic free radicals are eliminated and it can help with MS, Alzheimer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and obesity. Furthermore, it contains vitamin A, B, C and E, chlorophyll, epigallocatechin, essential amino acids (building blocks for proteins) and it helps to keep your blood sugar level low.

Chlorofyl also helps your blood to be able to absorb more oxygen, it helps your immune system, it cleans your body (detox) and it is responsible for the famous green color. The epigallocatechin has a healing effect on the skin.

Additionally, matcha makes you more energized, it improves your memory and ability to concentrate, it is a natural fat burner and it has a calming effect.

What is an affirmation?

An affirmation is everything that we say or think repetitively. It is a sentence we use to affect our conscious and subconscious minds. For the law of attraction to work in your life, the awareness of what you are repeatedly thinking or saying is extremely important. The negative and the positive. Because you create a belief for everything you are thinking. Herein lies the power of positive affirmations for success. Because what you think is what you believe, and what you believe is going to be your reality. This is how affirmations work.

How many thoughts do we have each day?

Did you know that we think between 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts a day? And that 95% of those thoughts are the same thoughts as we had yesterday? How many of those thoughts do you think are negative in some way? This may come as a shock, but experts estimate 80% of our thoughts to be negative!!

The law of attraction is all about having positive thoughts, but obviously, we canโ€™t control so many thoughts every day. For most of them, we donโ€™t even realize weโ€™re thinking them. So, if we have so many negative thoughts and we want the law of attraction to work for us, you really have to start adding more deliberate positive thoughts to keep on attracting the things that you do want, instead of the things you do not want in your life. We all know the expression: โ€˜you sow what you reapโ€™ and this is exactly how affirmations work. With our thoughts, we put seeds in the ground day in and day out. The more we water those seeds, the better these thoughts that youโ€™ve planted will grow and will become your reality. If you want to plant a positive outcome in your reality, you will not receive that by planting and watering negative seeds.

How affirmations work: the mind is like a computer and it needs updates!

Your subconscious mind works like a computer. There is software installed on your computer: a program with your past experiences, one with your belief-systems, one that tells you what you are capable of and of what you believe you are not capable of doing/becoming, one that tells you how to behave in any situation, one with your patterns. A lot of this software is old and is not serving you at all. It is based on the knowledge and technology that was available in your world years ago but needs some serious updating for this computer to work well. This outdated software is just repetitively planting and watering negative seeds into your system.

So in order to help our subconscious to water the seeds we want to grow, we need to re-program ourselves by deliberately installing updated software and uninstalling the outdated programs in our subconscious minds.

How affirmations work for me

What works best for me is to collect powerful positive affirmations on Pinterest with thoughts that I want to be true for my life. Create your own (private) Affirmation bord and pin those affirmations to it. Now you have your daily affirmations together in one place and all you need to is to take a couple of minutes to go through them daily. I read them every morning when I wake up when I’m drinking my morning tea or coffee. Itโ€™s important to try read them with full awareness so your brain really understands what you want it to believe. And feel that what youโ€™re reading is already in your life right now, even if itโ€™s not true yet.

Focus on how you want it to be, try to feel how you would feel the moment this thought entered your reality, so you will install this new thought as new software into your mind. And then at one moment, your brain will start to use this affirmation by itself, your subconscious will start to use it. And then, when this became your new belief, it will show up in your reality. This is when the law of attraction starts to work. You will first start to see the signals, which I always believe are telling meโ€ฆ ‘have a little patience and have trust, because what you want is on its way’!

Have fun and be creative with your affirmations

If you aren’t a native English speaker and you’ve mostly found affirmations you like in English, you could use a Quote Creator application to translate them, save them on your phone and then upload them to your Pinterest board. You can also write them by yourself in your native language. For me affirmations feel way more powerful when I read them in my native language, because I think it’s easier for my brain to comprehend what I’m making it to believe.

And even more so, when I write the affirmations myself because then it’s a thought that I already thought before myself. This will feel much better compared to borrowing it from someone else’s mind. ๐Ÿ™‚ So start writing these powerful positive affirmations that will help you to manifest your personal desires!

Don’t fight the old, focus on the new

Itโ€™s not necessary to try to control your negative thoughts or to feel bad about them. Itโ€™s natural you are thinking negative thoughts every day. Instead of focussing on blocking the negative, set your focus on installing these positive affirming thoughts. Because 1 positive thought is way more powerful than 100 negative ones. And focussing on what you do not want, will, of course, attract more of what is not wanted.

Every night before going to bed you can think or say your affirmations again. It personally also helps me to – before I close my eyes for a good night sleep – read a chapter from books that are about the law of attraction. Consequently, the explanations the author gives you on the subject will result in a permanent change of your belief-system bit by bit. Also, reading a bit daily will help you stay to aware and aligned. It’s really about perseverance and allowing yourself to spend at least 30 minutes of your day on your positive thoughts.

One of the best books to help you to set positive thoughts is the book You can heal your life by Louise Hay. She gives many examples of powerful positive affirmations in here that you can use and she explains very clearly how affirmations work. She really helped to improve my life.

Hey you, thank you for checking out my blog about the law of attraction and anything that might help you to stay aligned! ๐Ÿ™‚

More than 10 years ago, I came across a book in the bookstore called The Secret. Today, most of you probably know this book, but then it was completely new. At that moment, the Law of attraction did its job as described. I was drawn to it, I was guided to it. I bought the book and read it in one breath. Afterward, I was totally convinced that this was it! This was what I was looking for my whole life!

I put it to the test a couple of times. And indeed, it really did seem to work. What I didn’t understand back then was the presence of this huge pile of limiting thoughts, residing in the back of my mind. As a result, I fell off the wagon, again and again. ‘Bad’ things were happening and the negative thoughts came back; “See, this is nonsense, life doesn’t really work like this. It can’t be that easy, really! You were just lucky a couple of times. See how you still haven’t manifested the amount of money you asked for! You’re not even close, etc.” Many of you have probably already been down this road as well.

I fell off track so bad, that it actually ended in depression, burn-out and feeling totally unhappy with my life. Things seemed to just randomly happen to me, negative things.. And I completely forgot about The Secret and the Law of Attraction. It was still there, somewhere in the back of my mind. But the negative-thinking-monster took over my mind.

From nothing to everything!

A couple of years ago I signed up for a Kabbalah course. A lot of their teachings were actually about the power of thoughts and about deliberately creating. Slowly it got me back on track. Since then a lot of good things changed in my life. First of all, I quit my job and sold my house. Then I lived abroad for over 6 months and actually did many other things that I’ve always dreamed about. I started to learn more about the law of attraction through podcasts and books and via some amazing people I met along the road.

And the list continues; I married the love of my life and I am pregnant. I got my yoga teacher degree and I opened up my own freelance business. All these life changes, are now part of my day-to-day life. Changes that I once only dreamed about and seemed so far out of reach. They somehow became reality to me.

You can learn from my mistakes!

As you can see, my life completely turned around! And this is why I would like to share my knowledge and reviews with you. So you don’t need to go through 10 miserable, confusing years too before you will figure this good shit out. Consequently, this blog about the law of attraction will hopefully also help with my own accountability. Because in everyday life you naturally get caught up in this illusionary world. And then you forget to appreciate the things you’ve manifested and to show gratitude for them. And you forget how much lies within your own control, how you attract even the smallest details of your life.
